Twinning Program
From time to time, the San Francisco Pride Celebration Committee teams with other, smaller Pride organizations to provide logistical support and mentoring to help these organizations as they grow. This is one more way in which San Francisco Pride continues to give back to the community by sharing our history and experience with Pride organizations both locally and internationally.
If your Pride organization is interested in partnering with the San Francisco Pride Celebration Committee in 2011 or beyond, please contact us at info@sfpride.org.
Oakland Pride 2012
This year, we are proud supporters of Oakland Pride. Please join us in their annual celebration on September 2, 2012.
Oakland Pride is one of the most diverse pride celebrations in the country, and the second largest pride event in Northern California. The 2012 theme, “IT’S A CELEBRATION”, commemorates the milestones and accomplishments of the LGBTQ community, reflecting the progress Oakland and the Bay Area as a whole is making towards equality for all its residents.
Oakland Pride 2012 features a multicultural array of world-class entertainment, including a Family & Children’s Garden, Community Health Pavilion, Seniors’ Area, plus hundreds of exhibitors featuring the finest food, arts & crafts, pride merchandise, local businesses and community organizations from all over the Bay Area.
With attendance expected to be over 50,000, Oakland Pride will entertain with four stages showcasing over 60 different performers, including Billboard chart topping dance diva Ce Ce Peniston on the Pride Stage, K-Paz de la Sierra on the Latin Stage, Rah Digga on the Women’s Stage, and hot new Bay Area Hip Hop group Clyde Carson featuring the Team on the Urban Soul Stage.
Oakland Pride takes place in Uptown Oakland, and is easily accessible by BART and AC Transit. Admission for the festival is $10 for adults and $5 for youth 12 and under. Join us Sunday, September 2nd, Labor Day weekend, and let’s celebrate!
