ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
The San Francisco Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Celebration Committee, Inc., is a 40-year-old nonprofit organization founded to produce the San Francisco Pride Celebration & Parade. SF Pride is dedicated to education, to the commemoration of LGBT heritage, and to the celebration of LGBT culture and liberation.

ABOUT THE POSITION
SF Pride seeks a nonprofit development professional with a proven track record of raising significant funds and building valued relationships. The development team consists of the Director of Sponsorship & Fundraising, who works with our corporate donors and partners, and the Assistant Director of Development.

 The Assistant Director of Development reports to the Executive Director and works to diversify and increase the organization’s revenue streams, in an organization with a $2M annual budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Gifts
• Create and manage a major gifts program.
• Work with Executive Director to identify and solicit new/ prospective major donors.

Individual Gifts
• Establish and execute on goals for current individual giving program.
• Build on current program, to expand and diversify pool of individual donors.
• Steward increase in donors’ engagement with organization.

Institutional Gifts
• Research grant opportunities.
• Write grant proposals related to core competencies and potentials of the organization.
• Cultivate relationships with foundations and other grant agencies.

Other
• Direct donor recognition program.
• Maintain records of donors and grantors.
• Educate current and potential donors on the needs of the organization.
• Conduct fundraising campaigns for special projects.
• Provide support on special events.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A minimum of five years experience in nonprofit development, including prospecting, soliciting, and cultivating gifts.

• Successful track record in fundraising from major donors, individual donors, and foundations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Knowledge of issues related to the LGBT community.
• Experience working with the LGBT community.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Excel, internet applications, and donor database software.
