Lavender Scrolls Project
Sunday, June 26, 2011
Lavender of the East Bay is a grassroots volunteer driven organization whose mission is to improve the lives of LGBT seniors with outreach, education, and advocacy. The organization works to increase the visibility of LGBT elders in our community. A demonstration of this work, “The Lavender Scrolls Project” can be seen in the Lavender Scrolls Tent. The exhibit features the life stories of LGBT seniors printed on canvass. It is widely used at Bay Area senior and community events to bring attention to the fact that LGBT elders are one of the most overlooked, underserved, and at risk populations in the country. For more information about showing the Lavender Scrolls Project at a community event contact Lavender Seniors of the East Bay at (510) 667-9655.
