DJ Donimo spent his teen years collecting new wave, goth, industrial and acid house 12 inches. He has been DJ’ing for several years at numerous events. He started the night Shadowplay, which led to the Shadowplay stage at San Francisco Pride, and is now called the Sonic Reducer Stage. Sonic Reducer is San Francisco Pride’s music venue focusing on electro and new wave music.
He was a resident at Lucky Pierre, Club Vanguard, Chaps and Substance at The End Up. He has guest DJ’d at a variety of clubs and events including The Eagle, New Wave City, Temptation, Strangelove, Gossip, Bondage-A-Go-Go, Bearracuda, Kinky Salon, Villainy, DOPE, Pop Roxx, and Folsom Street Fair. Donimo’s style is often focused on electro with touches of his goth past.
As founder and sole resident of the celebrated monthly Strangelove, Tomas Diablo has breathed new life into the San Francisco goth scene. His meticulously-crafted sets of goth, industrial, electro, and new wave always pack the dancefloor and energize the crowd. He is the founder of Villainy: the Dance Club with a Dark Side, which bridges the gap between the high-energy dance scene and the goth/industrial scene. He is also a resident DJ at the weekly party Bondage-a-Go-Go, where he mixes new indie, dirty electro, pop and rock into the darker fare. Refusing to be pigeon-holed into one range of music, Tomas ran the event 'Rock This Town' for 3 years, where he invited other DJs to join him in playing anything that they wouldn't normally be allowed to play. Tomas Diablo has opened for artists like Gary Numan, Peter Hook (of Joy Division and New Order), Recoil (Alan Wilder of Depeche Mode), Lords of Acid, and Meat Beat Manifesto, and often guests at various events around the Bay Area.
From 2009 - 2010, Chris founded a successful quarterly music party called ZooSF with Hüsker Dü's Bob Mould, plus San Francisco gay socialites Papa Tony, Visa De Klein (ejector’s Ben Holder), and Danyol Leon. The purpose of the party was to provide an outlet for people “who seek music off the beaten path.” Each musical host took on an animal alter ego. It is here that Zachos acquired the nickname “The Honey Bear.” In addition, Zachos often DJs the Sunday Scruffy Sunday parties at 440 Castro, and on occasion brings his music stylings to out-of-state parties. Some favorite gigs of his include Big Chick's Bear Den in Chicago and The Phoenix Bar's Southern Decadence Block Party in New Orleans.
