Pink Triangle Assembly

June 24 @ 7:00 am - 10:00 am

Free

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  Many hands make light work.

There are three options to volunteer!

  1. Installation: Saturday June 24th from 7am -10am with CEREMONY at 10:30am which includes elected officials, some Grand Marshals, The SF Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band, and musical theater star Leanne Borghesi.

  1. De-Installation:     Sunday June 25th from 4:30pm-8pm (after the parade)  This is the day we get the fewest volunteers and is therefore the hardest day.  Please help take down the pink triangle.  Even just an hour – please!

One need not stay the entire time – even an hour of help on either (or both) days is a huge help!  More info at www.thepinktriangle.com

The gigantic display is a visible yet mute reminder of man’s inhumanity to man.  It is almost 200 feet across, one acre in size, and can be seen for 20 miles.

The pink triangle was used by the Nazis in concentration camps to identify and persecute homosexual prisoners, but has since been embraced by the LGBTQ community as a symbol of pride.  It is important to keep alive the memory of all of the Holocaust victims to help educate people to what can happen when hatred goes unchecked.  Education is the key. www.thepinktriangle.com
