Out 4 Justice SF Pride 2004
Pride President Joey Cain said: "Our membership voted overwhelmingly in favor of this theme because it speaks to many different communities. “Out 4 Justice” places our fight for queer equality in the larger picture of the movement for social and economic justice that is the wellspring of all human rights movements. It reminds us that our beautiful LGBT movement is about creating a just world for all." Just as San Francisco Pride partnered with Equality California to call attention to AB205 during last year's event, next year's parade and celebration will incorporate education, outreach and action on the issues facing our community. Pride Executive Director Teddy Witherington said: "San Francisco Pride is both a celebration and a statement--it’s a symbol of our strength and diversity that reaches across the globe. When we come out as a community for Pride, just as when we come out individually, we affirm our humanity, demanding full equality and justice.” Next year is the 34th anniversary of the San Francisco Pride Celebration and the Parade. The event is to be held over the June 26/27 weekend.
