Volunteers

2012 marks the 42nd anniversary of the San Francisco Pride Celebration & Parade. The theme is "Global Equality" and the event will be held over the weekend of June 23rd and 24th, 2012.The two-day Celebration & Parade is the largest LGBT gathering in the United States. Such a large community event couldn’t take place were it not for the more than 1,000 volunteers who help in the office, at the Parade, and on the Celebration site.

The SF Pride values quite deeply the diversity of our communities and the accessibility of the event. Volunteers contribute greatly to our ability to keep the event economically accessible to all and rely on donations at the event gates.

Additionally, volunteers make a very direct impact on Pride's capacity to support non-profit groups and to give back to the community by helping us to maintain a safe, exciting, and economically viable event. Volunteers have helped Pride to return nearly $2 million dollars back to the community since 1997.
