Pride Volunteers
2010 marks the 40th anniversary of the San Francisco Pride Celebration & Parade. The theme is "Forty and Fabulous" and the event will be held over the weekend of June 26 and 27, 2010.  The two-day Celebration & Parade is the largest LGBT gathering in the United States.  Such a large community event couldn’t take place were it not for the more than 1,000 volunteers who help in the office, at the Parade, and on the Celebration site.
San Francisco Pride values quite deeply the diversity of our communities and the accessibility of the event.  To make the event economically accessible to people of all economic backgrounds, San Francisco Pride does not charge an entrance fee to the Parade or Celebration.  Additionally, volunteers make a very direct impact on Pride's capacity to support non-profit groups and to give back to the community by helping us to maintain a safe, exciting, and economically viable event.  Volunteers have helped Pride to return over $1.6 million dollars back to the community since 1997.

Volunteer Perks

In addition to having an opportunity to meet dozens of other community-minded individuals, volunteers enjoy a number of perks. These include:

        - an invitation to the Volunteer and Member Appreciation Party where volunteers
will have the chance to win numerous prizes and enjoy free food and
           entertainment
        - meals and water at Pride
        - a gift bag filled with various goods from Pride's sponsors
        - access to a private rest area at Pride with restroom facilities
        - a volunteer tee-shirt (sizes depend on availability)

Office Volunteers
Pride is currently looking for Office Volunteers. The Pride office is the central planning location for the 40th anniversary of the Pride Celebration & Parade. With the help of our creative and supportive Office Volunteers, this year will be one of the most exciting ever. Volunteering in the office can be done on a one-time basis, over a period of a few days, or as an on-going, weekly occurrence. Our office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays. If you want to be a part of the fun, please contact us at volunteers@sfpride.org or call 415-864-0831 ext.110 with your availability.

Celebration & Parade Volunteers
