Community Partner Grants
Building
Community through Grants
The Community Partners Program is a beneficiary program open to non-profit
organizations in the Bay Area.
San Francisco Pride has been able to
grant nearly $2 million dollars since 1997 to our beneficiaries thanks
to beverage purchases and donations
made at our event gates. Community organizations provide Pride with volunteers the
weekend of the event, and, in return, Pride awards the organizations with a grant
based on agreements appropriate for the areas in which volunteers are provided, be
it donations or beverage booths (or another area of the Celebration if San Francisco
San Francisco Pride's Community Partners Program is one of the many ways in which
Pride is working to strengthen our communities. By partnering with community organizations,
San Francisco Pride is building a
strong future for the event while simultaneously investing in our community.
Donate at the Gate
Donate the minimum request of $5 at the
entrance gates of the SF Pride
Celebration to earn yourself a
dollar discount off beverage
purchases for that day of the
event. Not
only is your donation going to help
the more than 35 local non-profit
organizations staffing the gates,
but a portion of your beverage
purchase also helps support another
30-plus non-profits working the
beverage booths.
Take a Stand for Pride:
Donate $5 at the Gates
Your
support is vital not only in helping
to keep San Francisco Pride free and
open to people of all economic
backgrounds, but your donation also
helps strengthen community
organizations working on issues
related to the LGBT community,
breast cancer, and HIV/AIDS.
Background Information
Broadly speaking, the opportunities for partnering with Pride fall into three categories:
Beverage Partners,
Donations Partners, and
Accessibility Partners. Organizations who work with the
Beverage Program will provide volunteers to operate beverage booths (beer, liquor, wine, water, and soda) at the event. Those working with the
Donations Program will provide volunteers to collect donations at the front gates as people enter the celebration site. Finally, Accessibility Partners work with
Pride to ensure the proper management of Deaf
& Hard-of-Hearing spaces, our wheelchair-accessible
Grandstands as well as other areas of the event with
added accessibility features. Positions in the
accessibility side of the Community Partners Program are
limited.
The application for the 2012 program is now live on our website. If you are interested in applying to be a Communnity Partner, please visit our Eligibility and Application page.
